Welcome to the DC Children's Literature Book Club

About the DC Children's Literature Book Club

(DC Kidlit, for short)

What:

A large regional book club for librarians, authors, illustrators, teachers, parents and anyone who enjoys to discussing children’s literature. Each month, the club meets and discusses selected titles from multiple genres, including both recently published and classic books.

We hope you join in the discussion, either in-person or online.

Why:

The group's founder, Susan Kusel, is a children’s librarian and bookseller. She wanted to be in a book club for years, but had never been able to find one that reads children's literature, which makes up the bulk of what she reads. She finally stopped looking and started a book club herself.

Who:

Adults who enjoy discussing children’s literature. There’s a terrific mixture of children's librarians, authors, teachers, library school grad students, bloggers, booksellers and parents and other interested folks. Over time, we’ve grown to a membership of about 150.

When:

The second Sunday of the month from 3-5 pm.
